Project Brief

Develop a visual identity and experience to celebrate seventy-five years of innovation and design excellence at NCSU's College of Design.

Event Plan

Featuring interactive stations with three screen printing stations in Leazar, Kamphoefner, and Brooks. Participants can mix and match screens to create personalized totes inspired by the COD.

A laser cutting station will also be set up for attendees to upload their own photos and transform them into screens for printing. This fosters creativity, enabling students to each craft distinctive and expressive pieces.

Who is this for?

It is primarily for design students but also welcomes alumni and faculty. It offers a meaningful opportunity for participants to customize tote bags, fostering personal connections while creating a bag that's unique to them

User Experience

The design will be etched into a mesh screen for printing.

Participants will begin by bringing their photos to the laser cutting station, where they will be uploaded, converted, and sent off for printing.

Each printing location will have a few premade screens available

to use alongside their own.

With their personalized screen in hand, participants can now select one of the three stations.

Once at a station, participants will use the selection of screens to print onto blank tote bags.

Participants can layer the different screens and colors to create a unique collage.

Final Thoughts

Reflecting on this project, it was rewarding to blend my personal style with ideas that could meaningfully celebrate the College of Design’s 75th anniversary. This quick design charrette pushed me to explore ways of visually capturing the college’s legacy and resonating with a wide audience. It highlighted how creative branding can celebrate a milestone, bringing a sense of pride and connection to students, alumni, and the design community.
